Civil Air Patrol's first female national commander is a familiar face to the organization's 56,000 members. She was elected as CAP's National Vice Commander in August of 2006 and assumed the role of interim commander in October 2007. During the 2008 CAP National Board, held in Kissimmee, FL, she was unanimously elected as the CAP National Commander. Her name now joins the elite list of 22 individuals who have served as the National Commander including CAP's first Maj. Gen. John F. Curry.
